Huawei, Symantec in joint-venture report

4/23/2007, A leading Chinese financial journal reported today that Huawei would joint-ventured with Symantec to develope SAN and network security market. The new joint-ventured company will be named HuaSai. And the CEO of this company will be YiNan Li who was the former CTO of Huawei, founder and CEO of Harbour Networks. Last year, Li returned to Huawei after his company was purchased by Huawei. The report also said Huawei had input nearly 1.1billion RMB in this field, they have developed full secucrity product line, and have a team more than 1000 employees. Mr. Ren, zhenfei, Huawei's founder and CEO, has emphasized this field several times this year. In SAN market, Huawei's future competitors will be EMC, IBM and HP. Both Huawei and Symantic would not review on this news.
