Does China Mobile really have interest on TD-SCDMA?

4/6/2007, according to Shanghai Security Journal, China Mobile just began a new GSM purchasing which is worth 35billion RMB. These equipments will be used to upgrade the total national network. The question is this purchasing is nearly at the same time with China Mobile's first purchasing on TD-SCDMA 3G equipments. Also the 35 billion purchasing amount exceeds the 26.7billion TD purchasing a lot. Local analysts pointed out that the GSM purchasing meant China Mobile had other considerations on TD-SCDMA network, Maybe they didn't really have interest on it.
